The Ice Man from Nigeria

Best Blogger Tips
If you had any experience with the Northeast England Blizzard of 2009 and 2010, you are probably hoping to avoid frosty weather for a while. But what if the cold had no effect on you? What if you could sit immersed in ice for nearly two hours without getting cold? We don’t have to wonder too much, we can just ask Austin Nwafor what it feels like!

Off course it would be less surprising if he performs any act in temperatures above 30 degrees centigrade as experienced in sub-Saharan Africa were he hails from. Austin, the ‘Naija Ice man’ as he is called performs his unbelievable act of immersing himself in snow and ice to the bemusement of friends and members of the public. He can withstand sub-zero temperatures for long periods of time through share mind dominance over flesh.
A young Nigerians graduate of the University of Sunderland in the United Kingdom, he discovered his extraordinary ability in the winter of 2008 when he unconsciously bothered less about buying winter wears. When he didn't experience frostbite or hypothermia, which is the consequence of exposing the body to extreme cold, his rather unusual ability started to gain the attention of family and friends.
When asked how he is able to defy nature, he is not quite sure how he does it. “I arrived the United Kingdom in the middle of winter and I realised I did not struggle with the cold. As time went on, I could tolerate more and more cold”. Like his celebrated Dutch counterpart Wim Hof, Austin’s ability continues to puzzle and drill medical experts. Surely these extraordinary people have created a myth around the human physiology, with many questions being asked and no answer readily available. –By Ndidi Esinulo
