Best Blogger Tips
Crises in Nigeria is taking another turn as the Government declares state of emergency in some northern states. This is following series of bomb attack in different parts of the country. Everyone is hereby advised to be very vigilant of there environment. As reported the president of Nigeria has declared a state of emergency in areas of the northeast plagued by the boko haram group-meaning western education is a sin.
Goodluck Jonathan also announced the closure of part of the country's borders to control "cross-border terrorist activities". This might be due to insinuations that some members of the group-boko haram come from neighbouring countries.
At least 42 people were killed in two deadly church bombing in madala on the outskirts of the capital Abuja on Christmas day.
There were also series of bombing in some other parts of the country. Interview with one of our correspondence in Nigeria shows that people are already living in fear of the unknown, majority of the people have lost hope in the government and security forces who has failed them in the past.
In a nationwide broadcast the president said:  "While the search for the lasting solution is ongoing, it has become imperative to take some decisive measures necessary to restore normalcy in the country especially within the affected communities".
"Consequently, I have....declared a state of emergency in the following parts of the federation," he said, listing part of the states of Plateau, Yobe and retreat beyond the reach of our law enforcement personnel". -YahooNews
People seem to have lost hope in the Government, we can recount a statement by Frances-a resident of Portharcourt Nigeria during a telephone interview with naijaimpressions saying; "The government has failed us, people are dieing everyday and they don't seem to be able to help, it is even as if the police are also not to be trusted, I hate this country ". But the people of Nigeria needs to understand that Jonathan is also human and not supernatural. Two wrongs can not make a right-every single individual is responsible for making a positive change in Nigeria. However, the government needs to use a better strategy in solving the growing crises in Nigeria since past strategies have failed.
